Straight Up Menace

Still pissed about the Lakers.  I don’t even want them to win the next game.  Euthanize them.

The next game will be Pau’s last as a Laker no doubt.  Something needs to be worked out to get Deron Williams to the Lakers.  Kobe has 2 more good years left in the tank and then it’s pretty much a wrap.  So they should try to make a title run with Williams, Kobe, and Bynum.  Noodles Sessions also has to go.  The kid wasn’t ready for the bright lights and he proved that he is the best of the 2nd tier pg’s in the league.  Acceptable anywhere else in the league, just not here.

The other option is to hope that Chris Paul opts out of his deal with the Clippers, but he doesn’t strike me as the traitor type.

Mike Brown gets 1 more season as head coach and if they don’t at least get to the conf. finals next season he’s outta there too.

Good luck to Jordan Hill on that felony charge.

Damn! The Lakers got that 30-piece with no sauce.

Sessions looked like a white kid that got left by the tour bus on Crenshaw blvd.

A few tweaks defensively and this series is tied at 1 by Wednesday night.

Josh McGoonsquad makes enough to go out and put James Harden back to sleep.  I say sacrifice him and make it happen. Fuck it.  Hitting them in their mouth is the only way we recover from getting blown like that.

Queensbridge.

I honestly believe the Lakers can win it all this season.  The Heat can be beat, the Bulls can be beat, the Spurs might not get past the Grizzlies again and I think World Peace has OKC shook.
Here’s what has to happen though:
-Kobe is the best player, but Bynum has to be the MVP of the playoffs.  By that I mean we know that Kobe is going to do what he does best which is empty the clip and be a gunner, hit shots in crunch time and keep us in games when nobody else is producing offensively.  But Bynum has to go on a rampage and give us 22 and at least 15 every night.  We can’t have his immature mental lapses and his clear dislike for Mike Brown hindering his performance.  It’s really simple if Bynum doesn’t dominate, the Lakers don’t win and it doesn’t matter what Kobe does, Bynum is now the most important Laker.
-World Peace has to come back from his suspension in the 2nd round playing like he didn’t miss a beat during his 7-game suspension.  If there’s anybody that we need to perform more than Bynum in the OKC 2nd round series it’s Artest.  He stepped his game up in the last 10 games of the season and when he plays well nobody can beat the Lakers.
-Devin Ebanks is basically the place holder for Artest and I think he’ll be starting the entire Denver series.  He is essentially Trevor Ariza’s twin brother with less talent and confidence and I wish the Lakers could just rent 2009 Ariza for the 6 games World Peace is sitting out.  Ebanks is too raw to be starting in the playoffs and he doesn’t bring much to the table at this stage in his career.
-Matt Barnes has to keep hitting open 3’s.  Clutch 3pt shooting is critical in every successful playoff run.  I didn’t like Barnes at all last season (he just didn’t fit into the triangle) but he hustles and has as much heart as Kobe does.
-Steve Blake’s minutes in crunch time have to be kept to an absolute minimum because that nigga sucks!  I realize Blake is the backup PG but he is clearly afraid of the wrath of Kobe and it limits his game so much that I would prefer that he played as little as possible.  It’s to the point where Blake hesitates to take wide open shots because he is looking to see if Kobe is demanding the ball.  I blame Kobe for the complex Blake has developed but it’s irreversible at this point.
-Meaning that Sessions is going to have to be on point and keep his turnovers to a minumum.  He made it clear that he can’t guard Westbrook or Tony Parker, so he is just going to have to do what he does best which is push the pace, feed the bigs, and create shots when things get stagnant.
-As for Pau,  I really don’t know what to expect.  He disappeared last post season and has been up and down much of this season.  His chemistry with Bynum is great but I need more from him than just throwing lobs to Drew from the freethrow line and yelling like he’s an extra from 300 when he gets an and 1.  And we don’t need him shooting that corner 3 at all.  Whoever ok’d that needs to be fired.
-Which leads me to Mike Brown.  I’ve been trying to reserve judgement on him all season.  He’s brought a defensive toughness to the Lakers that they’ve NEVER had.  But he tends to over coach and gets too excited and I think it rubs off on his players (except Kobe) leading them to commit way too many turnovers (if you look at some of the box scores from this season you’ll see games where the Lakers had 25 turnovers.  That NEVER would have happened with Phil Jackson as the coach and it speaks to Mike Brown’s lack of a cohesive offensive strategy).  He’s laid the framework for this team and I think they understand him at this point, he just needs to sit back and see where adjustments need to be made from series to series.  The time for playing Troy Murphy and giving Steve Blake extended minutes is over. The coach also has to emphasize that Bynum needs touches early and often and can’t be forced out of the offense by Kobe shooting baseline fade aways out of double and triple teams.
-Jordan Hill- I expect nothing from him but I know that he is going to be seeing some playing time so he is going to have to attack the boards and make up for Pau’s lack of defensive presence.  The best game of his career was last week against OKC and he matches up pretty well with Ibaka.
-finally the Lakers need to beat the nuggets in 6 games so that World Peace doesn’t miss any of the OKC series.  I think the Lakers will beat the Nuggets in 5 which poses a little bit of a problem.
If all goes according to plan the Lebron jokes will be unlimited and epic and more satisfying than Kobe hoisting his 6th.

when will they learn to back up off this man?  I bet James Harden won’t ever be talking all that shit to anybody on the Lakers again.

Bad timing for World Peace though.  1 game left in the regular season, with what will probably be a 3-5 suspension.  But I think we can easily beat the Mavs and Nuggets without the king of Queensbridge.

LMAO!!! I know exactly what was going through Chris Paul’s head when Pau tried to give him the condescending white boy pat.

Josh McRoberts?  Josh McRoberts?  The fuck is going on Lakers?  This is unacceptable.

… per the new collective bargaining agreement.

… per the new collective bargaining agreement.

What’s unfair about this trade?
Oh I know, the NBA owns the New Orleans Hornets!
Remember in 2010 when Phil Jackson questioned the league’s ownership of the Hornets?  His specific words were “When Chris says he wants to be traded, how’s that going to go?  Someone is going to have to make a very nonjudgemental decision that’s not going to irritate everyone else in the league…”.
Jackson was fined $10k by the league for his comments.  But he was right.
What happened here is called collusion.  Collusion is illegal and something tells me that this will be reversed in the Lakers favor.
The official statement from the league was that the trade was vetoed for “basketball reasons”.  Well if you look at it, I think the Lakers actually gave up too much.  The reason some of the owners and the league really rejected the trade was because they had a vague idea of what the Lakers next move would be.  Yea, we were about to take over the game and trade Bynum for Howard.  It would have been a wrap for everybody if that had happened.
Sidenote: Cavs owner Dan Gilbert is a straight bitch for the letter he wrote to the league regarding this trade.
On another note: shout out to Albert Pujols for signing for nearly a quarter billion with the Angels.  That’s completely insane but deserved.  He and Barry Bonds are the two best baseball players in my lifetime.

Reasons why this deal is better than the one for Howard:
-Getting CP3 (arguably the best PG in the league) takes the pressure off of Kobe and allows him to play the post, come off of screens and create without the ball allowing him to preserve his energy throughout the season.
-CP3 adds 3-4 more productive years to Kobe’s career by default
-Paul also has that rare ability to make those around him better (something Kobe was only able to accomplish with one other player…Shaq).
-Back issues aside Okafor is durable, a good rebounder, shot blocker, and defender
-Ariza already knows how to play with Kobe, had his best years in LA and plays the passing lane as well as anyone in the league.  Ariza, Kobe, and Paul on the perimeter will create an insane amount of turnovers.
-The new collective bargaining agreement involves off season drug testing (possibly not for marijuana but nobody is sure yet).  But in case you forgot, Lamar Odom is 1 violation from being permanently banned from the NBA for smoking dope.
- We get rid of Steve Blake
- We get rid of Steve Blake
-Steve Blake is gone for good, never to return
Getting Howard would likely require us to eat Turkoglu’s ridiculous contract and we’d still have glaring hole at PG (not to mention that Orlando wants Gasol AND Bynum).  The reason getting an upgrade at PG is more important than getting one at Center is simple:  J.J. fucking Barrea and Jason Terry ate the Lakers alive in the playoffs last season with dribble penetration.  Old man Fisher is only good for 15-20 min a game now and Steve Blake is a D league talent at his absolute best.
Paul > Howard but getting both would be a dream come true and Lebron would NEVER win a ring.
