OKC Thunder are some cheap bastards
I saw a couple of posts about how some of you think that James Harden isn’t worth more than what OKC offered etc.
You’re stupid and don’t understand market value or basketball if you think Harden should have accepted that disrespectful 50 mil offer from OKC. Value is determined by the market for that value, not what we believe that value should be. Any other team contending for a title (small market teams included) would have ponied up that extra 12-15 million Harden was deserving of and asking for. Future cap penalties be damned. Ask the Spurs and RC Buford if they would have dealt Harden and paid Serge Ibaka. Just because Harden was the Thunder’s third best player and OKC intended to pay him as such, doesn’t mean offering 50 million was appropriate.
Bottom line is that OKC profited nearly 40 million last season and are still trying to claim loses, poverty and being at a competitive disadvantage due to the team’s location. If that’s the case then Clay Bennett shouldn’t have stolen the Thunder Sonics from Seattle. The Thunder got Lamb, Martin and a KEY first round draft pick from the Raptors but how likely is it that Lamb or that future pick amounts to James Harden? And I realize that Kevin Martin is a proven scorer but not enough can be said about team chemistry and how Harden, Westbrook, and Durant were BEST BOYS and those relationships translated directly to the court.
Do you hear that cackling?
That’s Kobe laughing about how easy it will be to get to that finals matchup with Lebron.
+1 for the LAKESHOW, YA BISH!
